Saturday July 11, 2015 at the Sandusky State Theater in Sandusky, Ohio was a magical night as the much anticipated film GORE ORPHANAGE had it's world premiere. Starting off with a "meet and greet" with the cast and crew, followed by the "Red Carpet Ceremony" where cast and crew we're delivered in vintage era cars and announced as they walked the red carpet. I was lucky enough to walk with my friend Maria Olsen, who stars in the film as Mrs. Pryor, Head Mistress of the orphanage. Her character is more concerned with the money coming in than the children. She does spend quality time with the children though, making them degrade themselves in chants and even physically hitting them at times.

An interview with 'Gore Orphanage' director Emily Lapasardi

After seeing a sign for Gore Orphanage Road, Emily Lapisardi was intrigued. Looking into the oddly named byway, she discovered there were local legends and ghost stories associated with it. Regardless of how true these tales of terror were, they certainly seemed like a good starting point for a horror movie. And so GORE ORPHANAGE was conceived, with Emily and her boyfriend Cody Knotts writing the screenplay to be directed by Emily. The finished film will have its premiere Saturday July 11th at 7:00 pm at the State Theatre in Sandusky. I had a chance to ask Emily a few questions about the movie, and here’s what she had to say.

Horror Society's Most Anticipated Title of 2015 Gore Orphanage Announces World Premiere

The world premiere for Horror Society's most anticipated film of 2015 will be held at Sandusky State Theater in Sandusky, Ohio, just 20 minutes from the location of the most popular urban legend in the state of Ohio, on July 11th with events on the 10th and 11th.

The film stars Maria Olsen (Percy Jackson/Paranormal Activity 3/Starry Eyes), Internet Tycoon Bill Townsend, Keri Maletto (Home Shopping Network) and introduces a trio of amazing child actors Emma Leigh Smith, Nora Hoyle and Brandon Mangin Jr.  It also stars five Cleveland natives Rick Montgomery Jr,  Jeremy Kaluza, Brooke Bellaurdo, Chris Bores and Cari Lynn Pisano.

The premiere will be attended by Maria Olsen, Emma Leigh Smith, Sandusky's own Miss America Jackie Mayer (whose son Bill Townsend stars in the film) and the film's stunt coordinator "The Franchise" Shane Douglas.  Also in attendance will be the Director Emily Lapisardi and her husband Executive Producer Cody Knotts.
