The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will continue its successful film series programming in 2017. The series profiling music icons through documentaries and concert films kick-offs on Thursday, February 23 with Take Me to the River, which highlights the music of Memphis and the Mississippi Delta.
All films are FREE for Rock Hall members,
$5.50 for non-members, and FREE with paid Museum admission if
space permits. Tickets will be available on ticketing.rockhall.com

Take Me to the River celebrates
the inter-generational and inter-racial musical influence of
Memphis in the face of pervasive discrimination and
segregation. The film brings multiple generations of
award-winning Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians
together.
Following the screening, there will be a
panel discussion with special guests, including Academy
Award-winning rapper Frayser Boy [Its Hard out here for a
Pimp], Hall of Fame Inductee Jerry Harrison of the Talking
Heads, Critics Choice-winning rapper Al Kapone, Grammy Award
winning producer Boo Mitchell [Uptown Funk], 2017 Grammy
Award winner Bobby Rush, and director/producer Martin Shore.
In conjunction with the Rock Halls
Black History Month programming.

Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.:
This documentary film tells the story of
2016 inductee Bert Berns, the songwriter and producer
responsible for popular hits like Twist and Shout, Hang On
Sloopy, Brown Eyed Girl, and Piece Of My Heart.
Following the screening, there will be a
panel discussion with director Bob Sarles as well as Brett and
Cassie Berns, son and daughter of Bert Berns, and comes with
the last chance to see 2016 Inductee exhibit, scheduled to
close Sunday, March 12.

Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m.:
Inspired by Pink Floyd's album of the same
name, Pink Floyd: The Wall is a dark,
expressionistic musical, told from the point of view of Pink,
a depressed rock musician.
Presented as a celebration of The Wall
exhibit, which is being temporarily deinstalled the
following day (Wednesday, March 15)

Wednesday, March 22 at 7pm:
The Punk Singer highlights the life of
activist, musician, and cultural icon Kathleen Hanna, who
formed the punk band Bikini Kill and pioneered the "riot
grrrl" movement.

Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m.:
Filmed on July 4th 1996, this concert at
the House of Blues proved to be Tupacs last live performance
before his death just 2 months later.

Wednesday, May 17 at 7 p.m.:
The documentary film tells the story of
Doug Sahm, the wild man musicians' musician and unsung hero of
Texas music who emerged as an international rock star leading
the Sir Douglas Quintet.
The event will also feature director Joe
Nick Patoski and is part of the Rock Halls celebration of the
50th anniversary of the Summer of Love (1967).

Thursday, May 25 at 7 p.m.:
Directed with raucous, anything-goes verve
by Richard Lester and featuring a slew of iconic pop anthems,
including the title track, Cant Buy Me Love, I Should Have
Known Better, and If I Fell, A Hard Days Night, which
reconceived the movie musical and exerted an incalculable
influence on the music video, is one of the most deliriously
entertaining movies of all time.
The event will also feature a
post-screening discussion with Kim Hendrickson, Executive
Producer at the Criterion Collection and Martha Karsh, owner
of the film and editor of the book The Beatles: A Hard
Days Night A Private Archive.
