GCFC welcomes "Little Evil" to Cleveland

[Press release from the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.]

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) is excited to announce that the feature film "Little Evil" has begun shooting in Northeast Ohio.

Eli Craig, the man behind the cult horror comedy "Tucker & Dale vs. Evil," will direct "Little Evil" from his own screenplay.  Starring Adam Scott and Evangeline Lilly, the story follows Gary (Scott), who just married Samantha (Lilly) only to find out that her 6-year-old son is the Antichrist. Donald Faison and Chris D'Elia also will appear in the film, along with Brad Williams, Bridget Everett, Clancy Brown, Marcus Terrell Smith and Tyler Labine. Owen Atlas will be playing the young Antichrist.

Bluegrass Films and Mandalay Pictures will produce the project, with Scott Stuber, Jason Michael Berman and Dylan Clark producing and Nicholas Nesbitt and Mark Moran acting as executive producers. "Little Evil" will appear on Netflix sometime in 2017.

"We're very excited to have 'Little Evil' in Cleveland, and to be working with Netflix," said GCFC President Ivan Schwarz. "Northeast Ohio's media industry is growing every day, in both size and reputation. People are learning fast what we already know; Cleveland is a great place for production."

GCFC is the only nonprofit dedicated to bringing jobs and economic impact to Northeast Ohio by supporting a thriving and adaptive local media industry. Since 2009, the State of Ohio has seen over $400 million in economic impact and created more than 1,700 full-time equivalent jobs thanks to media production. With the news last spring of state funding for a standalone film school at Cleveland State University, and a bill in the Ohio House of Representatives that increased the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit to $40 million annually (up from $20 million), 2016 has been an exciting year for Northeast Ohio's burgeoning media industry.
