original twist on the importance of friendship.Three friends ineptly pursue a
life of crime while sharing dreams of the lives they wish they had. Anthony
(Luke Wilson) seeks true love. Bob (Robert Musgrove) yearns for a family. And
Dignan (Owen Wilson) pursues a distinguished career in crime. After his release
from a mental hospital following a psychological breakdown, the directionless
Anthony joins up with his friend Dignan, who has come up with an outlandish
scheme for a crime spree that somehow involves his former boss, the supposedly
legendary Mr. Henry (James Caan). With the help of their pathetic neighbor and
pal Bob, the three pull a job and hit the road. Along the way the would-be
thieves each get what they wanted, but in ways they never expected.

Capitol Theatre (1390 W. 65th
St., Cleveland)

Wes
Anderson received his first Oscar nomination for the screenplay to this
star-studded comedy. Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Anjelica
Huston) had three children - Chas, Richie and Margot, and then they separated.
Chas (Ben Stiller) started buying real estate in his early teens and seemed to
have an almost preternatural understanding of international finance. Margot
(Gwyneth Paltrow) was a playwright and received a Braverman Grant of fifty
thousand dollars in the ninth grade. Richie (Luke Wilson) was a junior champion
tennis player and won the U.S. Nationals three years in a row. Virtually all
memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two
decades of betrayal, failure and disaster.
